Ayo! This is Christophe Galati, and I’m back to tell you more about Save me Mr Tako! and the game’s main characters. My goal for this game was to have many characters, with individual backgrounds and relations, in an RPG kind of way. I put a lot of myself into this aspect of the game, and I hope you will enjoy it. Spoiler alert: If you want to be fully surprised when playing the game, you should skip this news below!

First of all, you won’t play as only Tako in the game. There are some parts of the story where you’ll be in control of other characters for specific sections, levels or dungeons.

Here is the main cast of Save me Mr Tako! (the illustrations were drawn by Valentin Seiche):

Tako is the main character in the game. He’s a small octopus who has a lot of pressure on him because of his brother Bako, who is the leader of the octopus army. Tako clearly doesn’t want to fight in the war and would rather strive for peace. He is a very curious octopus by nature and wants to discover the world. Like all the octopuses, he grew up without his parents and stayed alone a lot as a child. During his first battle, he saves a human woman from drowning, and this heroic act marks the beginning of his adventures.
Bako is Tako’s brother. He was gifted with the ability to breathe out of water after falling in love with a fairy. This allowed him to study the humans and built a weapon to fight them: a type of helmet that allows any octopus to survive on land. For him, humans are a threat to octopuses and he believes that fighting them will put an end to the conflict. This theory makes him famous and it’s what led him to become the leader of the octopus army.
Mireille is the princess of Sarona, a kingdom ruled by her tyrannical father. She has a valorous and adventurous nature, often protects her brother, is more attracted to the arts and chooses to endorse the role of army general. She left her country for a mysterious mission, but her boat was attacked by the octopuses...
Azuria is the princess of the octopuses and Tako's childhood friend. She laments the past grandeur of her people and feels that, by her rank, she has the responsibility of restoring it. She often flees from the castle to visit ruins and embodies the hope of her people. She remembers from her late mother an ancient song of the octopus people, but she doesn’t know its meaning.
Evan is a lone traveler who left Sarona before the beginning of the war and swore to never return. He had a difficult life and appears as a very silent and shy person. Tako will cross his path multiple times before Evan eventually becomes his first human friend.
Sako is the general of the octopus armies and is second in command to Bako. He always wears his helmet and is ready for battle. Nobody knows where he is from or how he and Bako met.
Enkidd is a mysterious child. Raised by the gravedigger of Sarona, he discovered his occult powers at a very young age. He has a need for recognition and will try to make himself useful by joining the resistance of Ydor. He wants to be a hero and occasionally gets mad at Tako for stealing the show.

So, what do you think about these “friends” in Save me Mr Tako!? There are plenty of other characters to discover in the game, each one playing an important role in the events of the story. Thank you for meeting this cast and have a nice day!
